Summary

Sepultura is a heavy metal band from Brazil. They started off in the early-mid eighties and over the years their sound has gradually changed from death metal to thrash metal to nu metal, but these days they are more of a hardcore band. The logo pictured was designed circa 1990 during the recording sessions for the album Arise.

Making the inlay took quite awhile because of the smaller ring size. This is the first inlay I made from a printed text pattern, as generated by Irregular Grid Painter (IGP) in the Count Colors section. One intersting thing about this inlay is the difference in ring size between the two ring types used. The black rings are a full .008" larger in ID, which makes an AR difference of .2 compared to the stainless steel rings. This causes slight sagging in the sections with the black rings. I only did this because I wanted to get this project started when I did, and I hadn't yet acquired 13/128", and 2.5mm mandrels.
